Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Bree & Dave's wedding
June 23, 2009

How to describe my love for Bree & Dave and their gorgeous wedding? There really is no end to how much I adore these two and their wedding is one that I will never, ever forget. Bree is an absolute creative genius- from second one, I was so impressed and totally inspired with her ideas. Bree envisioned a completely chic palette- incorporating her favorite flower- the coral peony, cobalt blue, pops of aqua and vintagey yumminess. The wedding took place at the amazing Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles (with all the traveling I do for weddings each weekend, it was so great to be a few short minutes from my house!) One of my favorite memories from the beautiful evening was the ultimate surprise that Dave had for Bree. He had hired Bree's all-time, favorite singer (EVER) who we snuck in the back of Vibiana and who came out on the stage, surprising everyone. (Not even the bridal party or family knew!) I cannot divulge more than that, but her reaction (below) is completely priceless. I still get the goosebumps and tear up when I think about that moment.
Enjoy these completely incredible photos, from my dear friends- the oh-so talented Next Exit!

Anemones- yummy!

Hand-stitched programs and vintage hankies for guests!

THE Betsey Dunlap provided the gorgeous calligraphy.

How awesome is this shot?

Can't you just feel the anticipation?! LOVE this shot.

The courtyard of Vibiana really is a little urban oasis.

Vintage postcards displayed in postcard racks led guests to their tables.

The gorgeous couple!

How yummy is this tabletop? Bree collected vintage milkglass and Dandelion Ranch provided the gorgeous florals.

Vibiana is truly breathtakingly beautiful.

The reaction shot. :)

The 5 yummy cakes from Hot Cakes, displayed on vintage pedestals.

We displayed a little "take away" station for guests to take flowers home. Since the milkglass belonged to Bree, she hated the idea of all of those flowers being left behind. Instead, guests were able to wrap up bunches of flowers with the kraft paper and raffia from the take-away station.

I adore this wedding! I'm looking for the next wedding to feature on http://whollymatrimony.com and I would love for it to be this one - would you be ok with that? I especially want to talk about the cakes and the take-away station for the flowers.

You can email me at christine@whollymatrimony.com and let me know if we can share it over there. Thanks so much!

Congratulations
You have just experienced one of the most incredible events of your life. The person who you love most in the world has popped the question and you have answered 'yes!' The whirlwind of the wedding planning world has now opened- questions and excitement from friends and family, your childhood wedding dreams re-visited, wedding magazines taunting you from the shelves of the check out lanes. You are finding yourself with a new language. A vocabulary full of words such as Fiancé, Chivari chairs, fondant--words you had no idea that you knew and now they seem to run off your tongue effortlessly.

I know how fast everything seems and how overwhelming it all can feel at first, so I created this blog to help answer questions, give advice and inspire new ideas.
